Employing the silhouette of a mouth-blown, ochre hand stencil – an abstracted symbol, resplendent in a cosmic variety of colour and gradients – Rennie brings together the ancient and the modern in a way that speaks volumes of his worldview and, most significantly, his regard for selfhood and belonging in contemporary life.
