Neo-Geo II at Station Gallery, is a continuation of Rennie’s exploration of the ‘new geometry’ art movement that occurred in the mid 1980s. Rennie re-contextualises this concept and re-defines his relationship to the Gamilaroi/
Kamilaroi diamond patterning in a new body of work that pairs hard edges and fluid forms, drawing on the traditional Gamilaroi/Kamilaroi practice of carving and inscription, and extending this practice to incorporate hyper-coloured metallic totem poles.
